OPD staff are available to meet with local governmental representatives, review existing public defense contracts, and provide information regarding best practices in public defense contracting.  There is no charge for this service.

David DeLong served as a public defender in Chelan County from 1991 to 2006 until he went to Clark County to work as the county’s first Indigent Defense Coordinator.  There he managed the county’s contract defense system and saw many important changes to indigent defense in Clark County.  He can be reached at (360) 586-3164 ext. 110 or e-mail to david.delong@opd.wa.gov
